We were founded over 7 years ago by two ladies that had helped their families or families they worked with deal with head lice. One was a registered nurse and the other was a quality assurance professional. They saw the stress and burden that having head lice in family put on parents and/or caregivers. These two ladies knew that there was a need for a service that provided accurate information, effective and natural solutions, and education to families in their communities.
We believe that no parent, caregiver, or individual should be left feeling like they have nowhere to turn during a lice outbreak. With the barrage of information available today, it’s hard to know what information is correct and accurate and which information is false, misleading, or untrue.
We educate all of our lice treatment specialists with only the best training and information available. We rely on credible sources for information. We source from the following places:
- The scientists at the Laboratory of Public Health Entomology at the Harvard School of Public Health
- Clinical reports from the American Academy of Pediatrics
- The National Institutes of Health
- The American Academy of Family Physicians
- The Centers for Disease Control (CDC)
Our specialists are all highly experienced as well. They go through a lot of hands on training and have worked with lots of families just like yours. We will always treat you and your family with the dignity, respect, and compassion you deserve. Our motto is “no shame, no blame!” Lice happen to six to 12 million people in the United States annually according to the CDC.
All of our services are 100% confidential. Though you don’t have to tell anybody about your lice outbreak, we do advise letting the school nurse and parents of kids your children play with know. School nurses are experienced at delicately handling situations such as these and will discreetly get the information to other parents. In most cases, parents like to know if their child’s friends are experiencing head lice, our guess is that you’d like to know too.
When one of our specialists arrives at your home, he or she will be in a logo-free vehicle to ensure that your privacy is maintained. Our mobile lice clinics come with everything we need to stop the life cycle of lice in your home. One of the first steps we take in this process is a manual and thorough screening for every member of your family. Some people don’t show any signs of having a lice infestation, and the best way to detect hosts is to manually check them for head lice. It is important to know what to look for during a screening, as dandruff, globs of hairspray, and even dirt can be mistaken for head lice. We will teach you how to screen and what to look for during a screening so you can provide this service to your family members in the future. We recommend regular screenings for children. Quick detection means quick treatment which allows the spread to stop more quickly!
After the specialist has identified each member suffering from head lice, everyone requiring treatment will receive it. Our treatments are non-toxic, safe, and effective. They are made from pesticide free, environmentally friendly, and natural ingredients. They do not harm the skin, block the view of what needs to be combed out, and are gentle for all ages.
We use fine toothed metal lice combs which are preferred to plastic combs. These fine toothed combs allow the specialist to remove lice eggs (nits), young lice (nymphs), and adult lice from the hair. We will teach you to use this comb as well. Follow up care is an important step in getting rid of head lice for good. You’ll have this skill so you can perform follow up care in the days after the initial treatment.
We take great pride in making fellow lice experts out of our clients. You’ll learn how to screen for head lice and how to use a lice comb. You’ll also learn all about accurate facts and the myths that surround head lice. We teach families about head lice, who gets lice, how lice spread, super lice, home care, hygiene, treatments, and many more topics. We also provide families with tips on how to prevent lice outbreaks in the future. Though we hope you never have to deal with a lice infestation in the future, we feel confident that by the time we leave your home you’ll feel empowered to do so should the need arise.
